WHAT'S HAPPENING

The Simi Valley Virtual Arts Center is an extension of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center - a newly created platform for reaching audiences while attending events in person at the Center is not allowed due to the current health crisis.  Currently the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center is closed to the public with a reopening date yet to be determined. Through the Simi Valley Virtual Arts Center we hope to continue to connect to our patrons and supporters and provide entertainment and information during this time of required social distancing and isolation.  We miss all of you and can't wait until we can safely gather once again in our beautiful, historic Cultural Arts Center.  We will be back! But for now, it's #OnlyIntermission.  We hope you will continue to engage, enjoy, and support the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center's offerings and those from select Arts Partners through this Virtual Arts Center platform. Stay healthy and safe!

Silver Anniversary Fundraiser

Goal: $25,000

November of 2020 marks the Cultural Arts Center's Silver Anniversary!  We opened November 3, 1995 with a two day gala opening featuring star of stage and screen Rita Moreno.

For 25 years the Cultural Arts Center has provided the SImi Valley and greater Los Angeles community with outstanding live entertainment at family friendly prices. We had great plans for a big 25th Anniversary Celebration until Covid-19 put us on an "extended intermission".

SVCAC has had to cancel over 100 events in 2020, so we have launched a Silver Anniversary Fundraiser in hopes to raise $25,000 to help us survive until we can once again welcome you safely into our theater audience.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to SVCAC via our link below. Or you can mail a check made payable to SVCAC to 3050 Los Angeles Ave, SImi Valley, CA 93065. You may also call us to speak to a LIVE person at 805-583-7905.

The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center proudly shares Farley Cadena's solo cabaret act STROKE OF LUCK (or How My Brain Broke and I Crawled Back) as the kickoff to our Virtual Cabaret Series.

The stark drama of Farley's stroke, and subsequent recovery, is woven into the fabric of a funny, fresh and musical cabaret. The realities and consequences of a stroke are realistically brought to life as Farley cracks her life open and inspects it with bravery, music, and humor. Farley Cadena is well known for her wickedly funny roles on regional Los Angeles stages. She shocked and stunned the theater community, in late 2017, when she experienced a sudden stroke. Ms. Cadena felt deeply lost, hopeless, frightened and helpless during her illness, bringing focus to simply returning to her "old self", but her brain was just broken. Nonetheless, she dug deep into her recovery and gave herself the big crazy task of telling the tale of what transformed her life... out loud... with music... to an audience!

In the style of the Moth Radio Hour, Simi Storytellers is a series intended to share the stories of local residents in an effort to "meet our neighbors" in a virtual. safe and socially distant way.  Periodically we will invite Simi Valley residents to submit a storytelling idea to us for consideration. The story must be true and you must be willing to share your story "live" (via a recording) should your story be chosen. Each mini series will follow a theme. There are so many interesting and diverse residents of Simi Valley and we can't wait to meet you and share your stories!
